The Hangover 2 is a fairly decent film. Sorry.
Hot Tub Time Machine 2 is a fairly decent film. The confusion between the two is that the films are so alike in that they are near mirror images of their originals.
Following the events of the first movie, the guys are all rich and living the high life. Until Lou gets what he always wanted – a shotgun to the dick. Time travelling to the future in order to save the past and to prevent Lou from dying, the guys make gags about the first film, insulting who they look like, get in the same fights, have the same catchphrases, mention Cincinnati, and end the film on top of a building. It’s the same movie except with less Chevy Chase.
Replacing John Cusack is Adam Scott who does deliver more laughs as he’s not as ‘stone-faced’ as Cusack. There are a few new gags involving drugs, a TV show that should certainly be made, and a reel at the end showing how the guys are involved in every major historical act ever, but the film can not compare to the original.
Hopefully if a third is made that they will try for some new material instead of recycling the originals yet again.
